“Over 50 years of serving Longridge and the surrounding area”

In 1957 Arnold Swift bought the ironmongery business from Girtie Prestwick and continued to sell ironmongery and general farm supplies from the front room of 55 Berry Lane.

As they became available, the two adjoining terrace properties on Berry Lane (53 and 57) were purchased as well as land at the rear on Warwick Street.  This considerable increase in space allowed a massive expansion in stock and enabled several new product ranges to be offered including Calor Gas and bulk garden compost.

In 2001 the Garden Centre at the rear of the store was opened selling a variety of Plants and Garden Products.  During the following twelve months, Garden Furniture was added.

In 2003 the Cookware section of the store was completely refurbished and product ranges were significantly increased.  This development proved so successful that the Cookware section expanded even further in 2005 into the first floor showroom. The store was renovated to a high standard to reflect the quality of products on sale.
